Performing Shakespeare: Audition Technique

If you’re about to audition for drama school and feel like your Classical monologue is the weakest part of your audition, this course will help. Led by an audition panellist from a top London drama school, this course will give you the tools you need to help you feel confident and ready for your audition.

What will I gain from doing this course?

Improve your chances of getting a recall.
We will explore how to physicalise your monologue, to stop you feeling awkward about how to stand and what to do with your arms. Instead, you’ll feel immersed in the scene and embodied in the character.
Through exploring techniques to bring the speech to life, you will avoid the key mistakes that make an audition panel switch off and stop listening.
Together, we will guarantee that you understand every single word of the speech (maybe better than the audition panel themselves!)
I will provide you with a variety of short warm up exercises that you can do just before your audition. These will relax you and help you feel more confident.
You will practice performing your monologue and receive feedback from an experienced panellist and industry professional.
